Families in District 58B continue to walk through the fire with the Minneapolis Public Schools as funding shortages result in school closings, teacher layoffs, increased classroom sizes and a well-documented achievement gap.  I would work with others to address the state education budget.  Currently funds from the State will not cover our current education costs, specifically in Minneapolis.  We must think creatively about alternate funding sources to support our school district for the benefit of all families and students.
